Dear Mount Vernon:

1 million views later and still no peak at the City’s finances.

Why?

The politicians have the power to open the books. They have 7+ Court Orders and a contract with the City’s bank to access and publish tax data right now.

Yet they refuse.

Keep the facts in mind. With COVID killing our economy and environmental liabilities looming — they only spared “240 seconds” to hint at well-known fiscal problems while offering no solutions.

Overall, they choose to lie back when they could choose to lead forward.

Why are they shirking away from protecting the…

Gloves On Gloves Off # 2 on “Main Street vs Wall Street”, Immigration, Isolation and the New Political Class. Hosts Mayor Richard Thomas and Firehouse Father Gassie discuss: (1) coronavirus impacts on immigration; (2) opening the economy with shut borders; (3) who is getting bailed out or thrown out; (4) why a rent freeze is necessary; (5) gives props to Goldman Sachs for supporting Small Business lending; (5) and examines the need for government systems to support a bold economic revival.

Father Gassie and Mayor Thomas touched upon the past and future of Memorial Field. They called for grass…

The Coronavirus attacked our health and put the global economy on life support. U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell responded requests for more state funding by saying, “Maybe states should declare bankruptcy?” To which New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “That is a dumb idea.” I agree with Governor Cuomo. States and municipalities ought to be funded properly so that they can embark on a bigger, bolder agenda to build back better than ever before.

The CARES Act provided the Federal Reserve Bank with the authority to print as…

“The Big Fight” is a blog and vlog on the various fights we have to make life better.

The coronavirus has changed life as we know it and we are all in this “Big Fight” to defeat #COVID19 for a better life right now.

In this update, I offer condolences to the Davenport and Rivers families who lost loved ones to due to complications from the coronavirus.

Given the daily directions that the public is to stay at home to stop the spread and save lives, many are asking how long will the coronaVirus pandemic last?

I was watching the closing arguments of impeachment of President Donald Trump yesterday. And I could not be more proud of Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and Rep. Adam Schiff for making a compelling case; however, we all know it is not going to happen. I do wish the impeachment was about us… the people of America and not a delayed payment of our treasure to Ukraine. I was hoping the Democrats would mention how monies for education never arrived back in New York from Washington or how resources to restore power in Puerto Rico…

What is going on with Mount Vernon’s money?

Why is everyone afraid to hold the Comptroller accountable?

Listening to Jerry Kremer, I tried quiet appeasement for many months… then slowly but surely escalated matters into court with the support of the City Council. And won in court!!! But politics prevented enforcement of the orders.

#NowThis — Jesse Van Lew posts that #SaveMountVernon is addressing the issue with the Comptroller.

Great.

What happened before?

What’s different between then and now? No Garbage trucks were not enough?

I support MVPD, MVFD, DPW and all organized labor to get properly paid on time.

OFFICIAL COMMENT BY FORMER MAYOR RICHARD THOMAS

This is another personal attack by Andre Wallace and his drug kingpin cronies. On the merits of pending litigation that I have not seen nor have been served with, under advice of counsel, I cannot comment at this time. While I maintain my position that I did nothing wrong and followed advice of legal counsel, I look forward to my attorneys handling this frivolous matter.

FOR BACKGROUND PURPOSES ONLY

The real question is how come $250,000+ in legal fees for Comptroller Reynolds personal lawyers were paid…

The below remarks were delivered on September 10, 2019, at the “New York State Public Campaign Finance Commission” hearing at Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) 199 Chambers Street Manhattan, NY.

Former Mayor Richard Thomas advocated for New York campaign finance reforms to also require the New York Office of Attorney General to refer election law complaints to the State Board of Elections first.

Connecting the Dots on the Political Conspiracy Against Mayor Richard Thomas: Dig Deeper Into County Waste

For years, previous administrations would mix in private carter trash with city trash and take kickbacks — case and point, Memorial Field. When I became Mayor, I worked to stop that bad practice, among other threats to the People. As a result, I, and everyone around me, became a political target. The County Waste event is one of many examples to come that proves the conspiracy against me, my administration, and supporters of mine. Why did the County of Westchester act on an emergency basis to attack Joseph Spiezio III (and his former company), while it appears they knew what was really going on with County Waste? Who really benefited? Perhaps, the truth will come out sooner than we all know?
