Black History Month Celebration at the AC-BAW

On Tuesday, February 27, 2018, Mayor Richard Thomas held the fourth and final Mount Vernon Black History Month Event of 2018 at the Association of Community Based Artists of Westchester in Mount Vernon. The event was a celebration of black historical figures featured on Black Heritage Stamps over the years. At the event, Mayor Thomas presented a plaque to Coach James McMillian of the Mount Vernon Razorbacks for his dedication to youth sports and for providing a positive role model for Mount Vernon’s youth. Mayor Thomas also recognized AC-BAW President Saleem William Sullivan for keeping the arts alive and well in Mount Vernon.
