Hidden Secret in the City of Mount Vernon: American Christmas

Mayor Thomas is not only proud to be Mount Vernon’s Mayor, but also proud to bring Christmas to America. American Christmas is the hidden secret of the City of Mount Vernon.

Mount Vernon has a company that’s spreading magic around the world. He’s asked and challenged American Christmas to come up with a proposal and bring that magic right here in Mount Vernon. They came up with a spectacular presentation to decorate S4th Ave, Gramatan Ave and other parts of our city with amazing festive light displays.

Fred Schwam, Chief Business Development Officer and CEO emeritus of American Christmas said, “We’re very proud of the service we provide and all of the preparation happens here in Mount Vernon.”

American Christmas has quite a few iconic NY holiday decorating displays like Saks Fifth Ave, Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center. They have installations in 36 cities around the country and in several countries. It takes 70 full-time year round employees and an additional 140 seasonal workers to prepare for the holiday season and they’re based here in our hometown Mount Vernon.
