Mount Vernon Rising invites you to a FREE chance to win a $500 gift card at a May 14 extravaganza on the steps of City Hall. The fun starts at 6 p.m. and it includes the premiere of a short film about Mount Vernon, plus guest appearances by Doug E Fresh, members of the UniverSoul Circus, the Force MD’s and Oprah/Wendy Williams show producer and author Patrick Riley. Free popcorn will be served and seats are first come, first served.
Mother’s Day Concert
Mayor Richard Thomas will host a FREE concert at 6 p.m. on May 11 at the steps of City Hall featuring The Voices of the Legendary Intruders.
The event will begin with performances by Mount Vernon locals, including:
- Comedian AD, known for belly-ache inducing laughter.
- R&B performances are sponsored by Kenny Butler of KB Productions, which will present Lil JoJo and Chase.
Mayor Thomas hosted All of Mount Vernon’s Muslim communities for A Ramadan Iftar dinner. Thank you to the Westchester Muslim Center, Yusuf Shah Muslim Center, Nation of Islam and the Yusuf Shah Islamic Center for attending this special event. #1MountVernon
