Mayor Thomas Holds Real Estate Meeting with REBNY President John Banks

On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, Mayor Richard Thomas hosted a breakfast meeting at Mount Vernon City Hall with members from the city’s real estate community and special guest speaker John Banks, president of the Real Estate Board of New York. During the meeting, Banks spoke about the new opportunities in Mount Vernon and the recent spike in interest in the city by members of his organization.

The discussion covered a wide range of topics that factor into successful real estate developments, such as public safety, access to mass transit — Mount Vernon’s three Metro North train stations were highlighted — recreational opportunities, incentives for developers and the quality of schools, both public and charter.
