“This week saw breakthrough progress on Memorial Field as county lawmakers voted unanimously Monday on a renovation plan. Critically important the plan returns the park to the city when the work is complete. Thanks to Legislator Lyndon Williams, all his colleagues on Board of Legislators and County Executive George Latimer for their partnership in moving Memorial Field. I also thank the people of Mount Vernon for enduring the loss of our beloved field for so long. My shovel is ready to work with anyone that is going to help the people of Mount Vernon.”
