PARKING PROBLEMS ARE BEING SOLVED

MOUNT VERNON IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Some of the parking issues we have right now are caused by recent utility work, new construction, and the renovation of parking garages.

Business is booming in Mount Vernon and our economy is growing by leaps and bounds. While the increased revenue will pay dividends for the city’s long-term fiscal stability; the short-term impacts caused by this construction is impacting our quality of life.

YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT WE ARE LISTENING AND CREATING SOLUTIONS

We have met with residents and business owners throughout the City — from Fleetwood to Canal Village; from South 4th Avenue to Lincoln Avenue. We are listening to you and implementing the changes you are requesting.

To improve traffic flow and help our impacted businesses, we are evaluating angled parking in certain areas to provide additional spaces similar to those found in Bronxville and other neighboring communities. We are also considering an adjustment to the cost of parking.

We are also going to prevent folks who live outside our city from continuing to cheat our residents from valuable spaces by introducing residential parking permits for neighborhoods located near our 3 Metro- North train stations.
