“Music & Spiritual Crawl: The Motown of Mount Vernon”
Captures the Essence of Mount Vernon
Mount Vernon, NY — “Let’s Crawl” is the motto folks will hear throughout Mt. Vernon on Saturday, October 13, 2018. T. Fraser Productions (TFP), in partnership with the Mount Vernon Industrial Development Agency and the Office of Mayor Richard Thomas will host the 4th crawl event: “Music & Spiritual Crawl: The Motown of Mount Vernon.” This trolley-guided tour allows foodies and history buffs to experience “A Taste of Mount Vernon” while highlighting historical landmarks.
Mount Vernon Mayor and Chairman of the Mount Vernon Industrial Development Agency Richard Thomas said “I send a warm welcome to all of the Mount Vernon “Music & Spiritual Crawl” participants. While on the trolley tour you’ll experience first-hand our city’s spectacular cultural and spiritual heritage and enjoy delicious food from our city’s diverse culinary scene.”
As the trolley navigates through the streets of Mount Vernon, our historian will point out the various landmarks and hidden treasures of this city. Some notable sites include the homes of singer Jerry Vale, singer Stephanie Mills, silent film star Laurette Taylor, feminist icon Bella Abzug, and others. The tour will uncover the spirit and pulse of the city by taking participants to architectural sites, including the John Steven’s house (the first home built in Mount Vernon), the Andrew Carnegie-funded library and a visit to Memorial Field “Wall of Fame,” among others and conclude with a live musical performance.
Music has always been more than entertainment; it has mystical powers. Some would say that music is the chicken soup for the soul. Whether it be rock & roll, R & B, country, rap or jazz, music has been the driving force in every culture. “The Music & Spiritual Crawl: The Motown of Mount Vernon” is our way of connecting foodies with the city’s unexpectedly rich musical history.
Mount Vernon’s food scene is diverse and has something for everyone - — an international destination for culinary adventurers. . “My objective is to create an experiential special event on wheels,” states Tricia Fraser, TFP Founder, “Mount Vernon is yours to discover and I am grateful for the Mount Vernon IDA’s support!”
