STATEMENT ON MOUNT VERNON CORPORATION COUNSEL LARRY PORCARI

Wednesday, May 29, 2019: Mayor Rich Thomas issued the following statement related to Mount Vernon Corporation Counsel Lawrence Porcari.

Mount Vernon Corporation Counsel Larry Porcari obtained at least 5 court orders against the City Council and Comptroller from obstructing the Thomas Administration. As such, I have the highest confidence in Corporation Counsel Porcari’s legal judgment as he has served with distinction since joining my administration in 2016. Larry did nothing wrong and everyone must remember that an indictment is simply an accusation based on allegations that must be proven in court.

These allegations are part of the false narrative that was presented to the same grand jury that voted not to indict me. I’m certain that once these allegations are scrutinized Larry will be fully vindicated.

The bottom line is this is a “Rich-Hunt” being facilitated by political enemies. We will fight lies and fiction with truth and fact!
