This past Saturday was the first part of the Second Annual Pumpkin Blaze. The blaze has become a two-day event, allowing one full day for carving and another full day, next Saturday the 28th, to light up Hartley Park with the glow of Jack-o-lanterns. We had over 800 pumpkins delivered to Hartley Park last week and the community came out in full force on Saturday, turning every single pumpkin into a festive Jack-o-lantern. We would like to thank the Department of Recreation, the Mount Vernon Police Department and most importantly the children of Mount Vernon for providing us with beautifully crafted jack o lanterns! Join us next Saturday from 4–7PM at Hartley Park when we light up 800 pumpkins!
