Weekly Public Safety Report 5/7/2018–5/13/2018
For the week of May 7th to May 13th, crime is down 44% and especially in five key categories: Robbery (~100% decline), Aggravated Assault (~50% decline), Assault (~100% decline), Grand Larceny (~40% decline), and Grand Larceny Auto (~50% decline). A detailed synopsis of the weekly crime statistics is below (along with historical comparables dating back to 2011)
These stats show how hard our dedicated policemen and women are working despite being underfunded and understaffed, as the department is continuing to do more with less.
According to Westchester County crime statistics, violent crime in Mount Vernon for 2017 is down more than 36% over 2016.
The Thomas Administration will continue its commitment to transparency by releasing these weekly crime statistics as they become available.
